Notes2:

Harold was born on a farm in Artic, in the Town of Masonville, Delaware Co., NY. He attended Deposit High School, then Morrisville School of Agriculture for a while. Harold was employed on a dairy farm of Jacob Blakeslee in Newton, NJ, then as a farm manager for a time near Rome, NY.

Harold was in partnership with his father and brother John on the family farm near Smyrna NY, after which he rented a large dairy farm between Smyrna and Earlville. In the 1960's Harold sold his cows and began a career as long distance truck driver, eventually settling in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
