John Niles (John1)
Born: March 4, 1638/39 in Braintree, Norfolk Co., MA.1
Died: Alive April 1686 when his name appeared in the minutes of
a town meeting.2
Married: Abigail ? About 1678 in New Shoreham; born 1639
in MA.
Children of John Niles and Abigail:1
- John, About 1680 in New Shoreham, R.I; died 1768 in Colchester,
CT.
- Ambrose, born November 28, 1683, New Shoreham, R.I; died before
March 17, 1724/25 in Lyme CT.
- Penelope, born about 1669; died about 1750.
- Abigail, born about 1675.
Notes:
I have heard there is updated information on John in the January
2000 TAG (I don't have access to this publication).
Found in my grandmother's (Lena J. (Teed) Niles) notebook:
Braintree records state that John son
of John Niles was born 4th mo. 1, 1638. Made a Freeman in 1678.
Abigail survived her first husband (John) and remarried.
